Contribution to the scientific advancement

  • Identified and mapped leaf rust resistance genes in wheat originated from Triticum spelta and Triticum monococcum accessions.
  • Co-developer of technology: “Optimisation of tissue, time and technique for real time and robust detection of four viruses (ApMV, ApNMV, ASGV and ASPV) in apple”.
  • Developed 184 EST-SSR markers in Almond.
  • Co-developer of two scab resistance apple hybrid cultivars CITH-PRIAME (CITH-Ambri-1 × Prima) and CITH-PRIDE (Red Delicious × Prima), released from SVRC (J&K) in 2024.
  • First report for the S-allele configuration of Kashmir indigenous apple cv. Ambri (CITH-Ambri-1)
  • DUS Guidelines/monogram for Almond and Kale.

Breeding for enhanced yield with biotic and abiotic stress tolerance in summer/spring mungbean.
